End doubt. Many people have college degrees, graduate degrees and success in life, but still feel their lives are lacking. No matter how lofty or intelligent they are, their minds are filled with useless things and doubts. The vulture flies high, but what does it eat? Truth is knowledge beyond the conditioning, synthesis and limitation of worldly science. Of course, worldly wisdom can be used for good purposes. But the wisdom of the world can go against religion and education. The beauty of supramundane wisdom is being able to use the techniques of worldly wisdom without becoming attached to them. Must learn the basics first. It is the basis of morality, the precepts, seeing the transience of life, seeing the phenomenon of aging and death. That's where we start. Just like before you can walk, you have to know how to flip, crawl, then… drive a car, and then, be able to fly an airplane around the earth. Studying books is not very important. The scriptures are true, of course, but they don't express the full truth. The scriptures are just words and scripts, and words and writing have only limited expression. For example, the word "anger" cannot describe the state of anger, anger, as well as hearing someone's name, different from meeting that person. Only your own experience brings true faith. There are two types of faith. The first type is blind trust in the Buddha, Dharma, and teacher — usually the first person to guide you in meditation or to give you a monastic life. The second is Right Faith—firm, unshakable faith, born of one's own understanding. Although there are still other afflictions to be overcome, one who clearly sees things within himself can get rid of doubts and gain faith in the practice. Get rid of textbooks, and realize for yourself My practice is not about study or research. I took the Buddha's teachings as a basis and spontaneously began to study my own mind. As you practice, observe yourself, and gradually wisdom and knowledge will arise on their own. If you meditate and want to be this and that, it's better to stop meditating. Do not expect or bring an extra idea into your practice. Store all your ideas or opinions in the inventory. When you practice you put away all words, symbols, intentions, plans, etc. Only then will you see the truth for yourself, for the truth is not far away, it starts right here. I studied the Dharma through the scriptures in my early years. At that time, when I had time, I often went to hear the scholars, the teachers preach, until this learning turned into more of an obstacle than a help, I stopped studying. Actually I didn't know how to listen to the Dharma, because I didn't look within. These Zen masters spoke of the truth within themselves. As I practice, I begin to understand that it is within me. After a while, I found that these Zen masters had really seen the truth, and if I followed their path, I would meet what they talked about; and then I will be able to say, “Yes, you are right. There is nothing left?" When I persevered in my practice, I found the results to be exactly the same. If you like to stay in the Dharma, let go of it, let things happen naturally. Just learning theory without practice is like "abandoning the game of catching the ball." No need to study much.
